On Monday morning we followed the same routine we had figured out by Sunday; We went to the lobby so Daddy could get ice from the big ice machine (you could lose a small child like me in there!), Mommy could get her (free) cup of coffee and Daddy could get a (free) paper. Then they both took their "Meta power drink." We made breakfast in the room, including eggs and toast and cereal and yogurt. They packed lunches and put what seems like the entire room into our bags and headed out.
This morning we went to Boulder (just 10 minutes away) to hike on the Mount Sanitas trail. To summarize the experience, it was very bumpy and steep and more than we were bargaining for. It was one of those hikes that Daddy would not normally tell Grandma about because it might have been considered a bit dangerous. I was a very good girl though, even as Daddy was carrying me straight up and over a big hill then straight back down. There were some sections on the way down that Mommy just could not watch us. But, Daddy is sure-footed and I was not worried. We made it up and down in about 2 1/2 hours, just in time to have a picnic lunch by the trail head.
I was pretty tired and took a good nap when we got back to the hotel. Mommy went for a manicure and pedicure at "Mimi's" which was just a walk around the corner from the hotel. And Mimi was even the one who helped Mommy, how special is that?
When I woke up we went to Wal-Mart (again) and bought a whole cooked chicken and mac & cheese for another dinner in. Daddy took me to the pool that night and I splashed and played with him. After dinner, we went for a walk to the mall again and I got a new bathing suit and cover-up for our trip to the beach this fall.
Another good day with a pretty intense start and a calm finish.
