On Wednesday morning, we did our normal routine (look back to Monday if you want the details). Before we headed out, we did have an incident, though. If I was at school there would have been an "incident report." I had just finished nursing on the bed with Mommy and went "tearing across" to the other side. I lunged for the table next to the bed and fell and bonked my face and head on it and fell on the ground. Mommy felt really bad because it happened so fast she could not catch me. I cried a little but then was okay. I do have a bruise on my face and above my eye. And no, I do not like cold things on my face, even if they are supposed to make me feel better. Mommy and Daddy are open to suggestions on how to help me better like cold things on my face if anyone has them.
Our amazing adventure today was our 4-hour, 9+ mile hike in the Rocky Mountain National Forest. My bonk on my head did not bother me at all and I was a real trooper! There were lots and lots of people on the trails, but we are pretty fast (you might remember that Mommy is called "Fast Walker") so most everyone knew to get to the side so we could pass. There was one woman who was very bitter, we don't know why, but Mommy said we should pray for her for being so full of anger in such a beautiful place. And no, Mommy was not being aggressive, this woman had issues. Enought about that. On our hike we saw snow-capped peaks, streams, five lakes and lots of trees and rocks! At the beginning we went up, up, up! We climbed over 1,000 feet in elevation. This isn't just like going up steps, the trails have rocks and roots and even though they are well marked, you really need to watch your step. Instead of going back the same way we came, we went a longer way back and we were glad that we did. There were still many people but the views were different and we saw other really cool lakes. We stopped at a lake and had our lunch on a big rock. It can be chilly up in the mountains so it is good that we bought a cool Colorade sweatshirt for me that I could wear on a hike like this. We heard a young boy say it well, "the longer the hike the better the view." We experienced that because we were hiking until 4 pm that day!
Once we were back at the hotel Mommy got our suits on us and she and I went right into the pool. It was quite a hot day and the pool was very refreshing. We had it all to ourselves too. Mommy just loved wading in the pool with me. She helped me kick and kick and did some "push off the wall" moves that made fun waves. Daddy went to Wal-Mart (again) to get brats and a bag-o-salad for dinner. He joined us when he got back and we all waded together. It was like the private Connor pool club (except for the many hotel guests who walked by because the pool is right by the front entrance). After our refreshing swim I got my bath and then stood by the tub while Mommy took her shower. I kinda got another cleansing because my head got all wet from sticking it into the shower. I actually did this earlier in the week but forgot to tell you. I guess it was cute because Daddy took a picture of me.
