This was another great weekend! Saturday morning, we ran through our normal routine (not literally, Daddy still can’t run and Momma has not been running much lately either). But, we did get up and go to the store to buy our weekly necessities. After that we did change it up, because Momma went to the Chiropractor to have him look at her back. Daddy and I took our soda cans to the recycling place so I could make some money for college. I made $7.50 this time! Grandma and Grandpa gave me a whole bag of cans, that certainly did help. When Momma got back, she said that the doctor was going to help her, which we like to hear! We had lunch and I went to bed. Daddy did some yardwork (very light, don’t worry) and Momma took a walk in the neighborhood. Boy does she miss her walks in the neighborhood!
Saturday after my nap we went to a place that sold all wicker furniture and bought Momma her Mother’s Day gift, a porch swing! Momma and the nice man who owns the shop loaded it into van (which is almost as good as the convertible for hauling) and off we went. We stopped by my future elementary school, then went to Jo-Ann Fabric to buy some “room darkening” fabric so Nana could make me shades to keep out the light in the morning. When we got home from that errand, Nana was there! And she came to spend the night too!
When Nana and I were eating dinner (chicken nuggets, lima beans and grapes), JJ and Dan came over. It was very distracting to have so many favorite people in the room, so until they left, I had no interest in dinner. I must be a good hostess and entertain my guests, and I just cannot do that well if I am trying to eat Lima beans too.
Nana and I had a very good time together while Momma, Daddy, JJ and Dan went out for the night. They said they had a good time too. They went to a fancy restaurant called Carlo and Johnny then went to our friend the Griffith’s house. There was a small incident at the restaurant when Daddy told Momma, JJ and Dan that he knew where the surprise trip was. Momma was bummed because she had been working really hard to plan the trip and to keep it quiet all at the same time. Then Daddy’s steak was not very good. At a place like that, the steak should be very good. Luckily, the Griffiths throw great parties and Momma and JJ had some time to strategize about what to do about the trip.
On Sunday, I got up and Nana was still there! Momma, Daddy and I went to church while Nana stayed home to make my curtains. When we got home, I ate lunch and took my nap. When I woke up, Uncle Robbie, Aunt Jeannie, Michael and Uncle David were there to see me! I guess they had a cookout while I was sleeping, but since I was up we got to have the brownie dessert that Momma and I made on Saturday. It was pretty nice outside so Uncle Robbie and Uncle David hung Momma’s new porch swing, Momma, Nana and Aunt Jeannie cleaned up the porch, Uncle David sharpened the lawnmower blade and I rode around on Michael’s shoulders. It was a busy afternoon! After everyone left (I yelled bye and waved over and over again as they all drove away), Momma and I went to get a few things at the grocery. I know, you thought we did that on Saturday. But Momma and Daddy are bargain shoppers and my milk is priced better at Kroger and Daddy only likes the lunchmeat from Kroger, so off we went. I did not want to sit in the cart, so Momma let me push the cart all around the store. I was a very good helper. When she and I came back home, She, Daddy and I went for a walk in the neighborhood! It was really fun to walk with both Momma and Daddy.
