This weekend was the annual cookie-making weekend with Grandma, Nana, Aunt Jeannie, Mommy and me. Grandma and Papa Larry came into town on Friday and picked me up from school. I loved it when they do that and run and giggle and jump I am so happy to see them. Mommy and Grandma started Friday night this year to get a jump on the sugar cookie dough. They were trying out new recipes because they decided that the recipe from last year just was not that good. Since the sugar cookies are a feature, they needed a good recipe! They found two that worked (of course they tried both of them that night and even had the expert taster, Papa Larry, confirm).

Saturday morning when Nana and Aunt Jeannie arrived, the girls all went to “breakfast with Santa” with Kristy, Patrick and Colin. I was a bit afraid of Santa this year but after some convincing from Mommy, sat on his lap for just enough time to get a picture. At first I was not into the crafts or games, but again, with some convincing from Mommy, had fun gluing an ornament and coloring a gift bag. We did not win anything in the raffle this year, which is odd, because we usually win. That’s okay, because Kristy won two things and she never wins.

We had some lunch, I headed for my nap and the rest of the girls started making cookies. I was a big part of the cookie making when I woke up and would consider myself a baker in training. I do a fine job of pouring, mixing, patting and even frosting. We had another fun and fruitful day and ended, again, with a table full of cookies. I am tall enough these days to reach right up and get my own cookie, which is a new learning for Mommy.
