November 30, 2009

November was a bit of a blur to us. Daddy sent Mommy two-dozen roses on the Friday he got home because their anniversary was the 9th, but he wanted her to enjoy the flowers the whole weekend before. They were lovely and Mommy got to show them off to her friends at work! Mommy walked with her friend, Kelly, then we went to JJ and Dan’s house for dinner that Saturday. Mommy was a sponsor for a neat young lady named Hailey and went to an event after dinner with JJ and Dan. Mommy and Daddy celebrated their anniversary on Sunday (the 8th) because they like to spend more time making dinner and not rush like they normally do.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we drove to Toledo to see Grandma and Papa Larry. We even left on Friday night so we could be there for two mornings! We had a great time, as always. One exciting thing we did was go to the Toledo Zoo lights. My cousin, Morgan came with us and we had such a blast. I was a bit confused and frustrated that there were not animals to see, which is what I thought the point of the zoo was. We finally saw a few animals and lots and lots and lots of lights. After our trip to the zoo, we went to dinner. By that time it was pretty late and past my bedtime! By the way, my bedtime is closer to 8 pm these days, but I am the queen of stall tactics and push it as long as I can.

For Thanksgiving, the following weekend, we went to Nana’s house. Uncle Robbie, Aunt Jeannie, Uncle David, his girlfriend Carmela and her granddaughter Leah came over too. I had fun playing with Leah, she is four-years old and has fun toys for me to play with.

Friday morning after Thanksgiving, Daddy got up and went shopping. This day is called “black Friday” and there are lots of good deals to be had. Daddy made his second-annual trip to Dick’s sporting goods for shoes and a few other things. He was home and back in bed before Mommy or I were awake. We put up the Christmas decorations on Friday, because on Saturday, Mommy was gone most of the day for her friend Heidi’s shower and bachelorette party. Daddy and I made some sausages on the grill and played and played. I am a big fan of the Christmas tree, and love to take the ornaments off almost as much as Bella does. Bella loves to sit inside the tree, which I don’t do.

Mommy had a great time with her friends on Saturday and Sunday. Erika hosted the shower at her mom’s house, and then Mommy, Heidi, Brandi, Mel, Holly stayed at a hotel in downtown Dayton for the bachelorette party. (Erika could not go to the evening event because she is pregnant and needed to rest). These friends are ones from the ages, so they enjoyed every laughing, giggling minute of their time together. They had many minutes, because they did not go to sleep until 2 am. For those of you who know Mommy understand that she goes to bed at 10 pm so this was a bit past her bedtime. Mommy did learn a new saying from a 21-year old, “Hey girl Hey” and taught it to me too.

Mommy came home by 9 am in Sunday morning so we could spend time together. She was pretty tired and took a nap when I did, but before that, we went to a place called Findlay Market in downtown Cincinnati. It is a place with lots of different vendors who sell meats, fish, vegetables, pastries, coffee and even crafts. We bought some bison for burgers for lunch, some hot sausages for Daddy, vegetables and pork chops. After our tasty burgers, Mommy and I were headed for naps! Unfortunately for Mommy, Bella likes to cuddle and has a hard time getting situated. She paws at the blanket incessantly, which can be very distracting to someone who is very tired. Mommy tried to get Bella to stop pawing, but Bella jumped, the alarm clock got knocked down, Bella got scared and scratched the tar out of Mommy’s hand. This did not make Mommy happy, and cut her nap short!
