We got to Nana’s just in time for a quick dinner and for trick-or-treat. I put on my Elmo costume, got my bag, hopped into the wagon, and was on my way. It took me a few houses to catch onto the idea, but after that I was raring to go! I was all about saying “trick-or-treat” when the neighbors opened the door! I wanted to eat the candy as we went, but Mommy made me keep most of them in my bag. I made a tour around the neighborhood then went back to Nana’s. By this point I was pretty tired after a long week, so Mommy and I said goodbye to Nana, Aunt Shell, Lilly (Nana’s dog) and Sophie (Nana’s cat who lets me pet her, unlike Bella). When I got home that night, Mommy realized that I had a fever of 102 degrees! I am a trooper and my costume was pretty hot, so Mommy did not realize that I was not feeling well. Luckily, I woke up the next day feeling fine.
Daddy did not come back from his trip until Friday, so Mommy and I took care of each other. It was a busy week, including a trip to Dayton to get an H1N1 flu shot. Papaw met us at the school where it was being given in case we needed to wait outside or for a long time. Mommy wanted to make sure that I got one because of my asthma, so we got there two hours early and were third in line! Mommy felt very blessed because even though I am in the category of kids with “chronic conditions,” my situation is mild compared to many of the kids who were in the line that day. I didn’t even cry when I got the shot and afterwards, we all went to McDonald’s for dinner.
