Thursday was Christmas Eve, which meant that everyone (all of my “Connor” aunts, uncles and cousins) came over to Grandma and Papa Larry’s house and we opened lots and lots and lots of great presents! As I mentioned before, this was the first year that I understood what the Christmas thing was all about. The gifts were all in a back bedroom, so I went back to check out what was going on with my comment “what you guys doin’?” I carried my share of packages to the living room, but I still had no idea what they were. I got the first gift, which was the “little people barn toy.” After Mommy spent the five minutes opening it (can you believe the amount of material toys are packed in?) with my help, I was gleefully playing with it. I had no idea that there were more gifts coming! The gift opening went for hours. I was happily enjoying the gifts I had already opened, but more kept coming! I stayed up until after 10 pm that night. I have not stayed up that late for years (and I am only a few years old, so it seemed like a lifetime ago). We left a plate of cookies out for Santa and the reindeers that night. I was not really sure why we were leaving cookies out. For the first thing, Papa Larry loves cookies so much, Santa better come soon or Papa Larry will eat them!
